I try to hate it, but it is too pretty to hate.

Ask me how I feel about it tomorrow when I have to clear off my car.

Worms in Dessert

Worms in Dessert, originally uploaded by supersleeves.

Lindsay and I spent way too long making pudding from scratch on Friday night. The resulting pudding (which required gelatin to finally get it to puddin’-up) was turned into delicious dirt-cups, complete with creepy-crawly little wormies. I must say, though… the pudding did not disappear fast enough (please come eat some, there are three cups still in the fridge) because the pudding is SO RICH that is impossible to eat an entire cup’s worth. Next time? I would cut the chocolate in half… make it more of a milk-chocolate pudding. I’d add more vanilla too.

It was, however, ridiculously easy to make, and it was totally worth it in the end. It was just SO RICH!

This picture was taken in Jesse’s car. We were sitting under a street light out side his friend’s apartment. It looked so magical, illuminated by the glow of the streetlight.

Round Baby

Internet, this is Joey. Joseph Cannon. My grandfather’s namesake, and a very round, pleasant baby. Joey, this is the internet. You’ll probably know more about the internet than I do by the time you’re my age, which is scary because I know an awful lot. Maybe you will have first grade online. Maybe you will have a cell phone by the time you are seven. Or maybe you’ll just be a cool analog kid. I feel like that’s going to be the next trendy thing for kids to do… go analog. I’d like to think we can only go backwards at this point (reverting from one object that is a cell phone, camera, and computer in one to, oh I don’t know, THREE OBJECTS that all do ONE thing?).

I rant about technology as I write from my new computer. It’s pretty sweet, by the way… thanks for asking. But it doesn’t fit in my pocket and it doesn’t have a 10 megapixel camera built in. The tragedy of it all.

I have been taking a fair amount of pictures (umm, sort of a lie) but I haven’t posted any. There are a few from Blah’s house the other day that I want to fix up, but thanks to the Great Computer Virus of 2009, it’s going to be a few days until I can get the photo editing part of this baby up and running. Don’t want to destroy the new baby, ya know?

Until then, enjoy the soft face of this adorably round baby.

Asleep In A Box @ Trash Bar, originally uploaded by supersleeves.

New York City is a cold, cold place. An eight-year-old walked off with my lens cap after someone knocked it off my camera and into the cross-walk. He picked it up, slipped it into his pocket, and disappeared into the crowd. Punk.

I think I’m okay with Times Square for now. Brooklyn was far more relaxing.

Something Needs to Change

It’s that time of year again when I reflect upon the pictures I’ve taken recently and how I ate almost Every Single One of them. I don’t shoot enough. I don’t shoot like I want to shoot. But, I have come to conclude that this is no fault of my own. Well, sort of. I don’t have time to go shoot like I want to! During the week, my time is spent running from class to lab to the library. When I’m home, I am either doing homework or trying to finish a knitting project that I promised my mother I would finish before Christmas. On the weekends, Jesse comes to visit and we’re both so exhausted from our weeks that we spend most of the day laying in bed watching Rocky marathons or something similar. At night, we meet up with friends and, seriously? I am bored with taking pictures of our friends. None of them want to be photographed anyway.

I’m tagging along to Brooklyn with Asleep in a Box, which I am super excited about because I’ve never been to The City! I intend to bring both my digital and my film cameras (or Jesse’s if he’ll let me… I want to use something older)… maybe even my Holga if I have enough room in my bag. Maybe I’ll have some good shots to upload if I am diligent about it!

Until then, enjoy this shot of our Black and White party. The pictures I took were lame… I was more focused on enjoying myself at the party. I like this shot though.
